Hello,
my name is Asimina Saranti. I am a Computer Engineer and a Greek-Swiss. Being a restless spirit, I have developed over the years a passion for travelling, learning foreign languages, knitting & crochet, photography. This passion has led me to win a photography contest in 2012, obtain first prize in a knitting design competition in 2013, publish knitting & crochet patterns, become a knitting and crochet teacher! It has given me the opportunity to learn, experiment and grow.
As a former member of BEST Patras & NextStop: Explore, I have been able to realise a small part of my dream to travel, explore & understand the world.
Since 2017 I am based in Bern, Switzerland and work as an IAM engineer for a well-known Swiss company. In my free time, I spend a lot of time researching and practicing new techniques in a variety of fiber arts. Some of the finished items eventually show up in my Über den Traum online shop which I ran on a part-time basis.
Even though the shop and this site share the same name, this blog is a more personal space for me to share the things I make, my thoughts on things and travelling.
